Über Hinoki-Holz:
- Hinoki ist eine Art japanisches Zypressenholz. Es ist bekannt für seine natürlichen antimikrobiellen Eigenschaften und nimmt überschüssige Feuchtigkeit aus Lebensmitteln auf, wodurch diese besser schmecken.

My first viit to Japan (Hokkaido)
I love love love this wooden one.
So impressed! This was a great find. Really easy to handle as long as you use water to keep the rice from sticking. It’s got me very excited to make lunches for friends and I’ll probably end up buying more before too long just so I can make a bunch more quickly.

It's a little smaller than expected, but it turned out to give me perfectly travel/packing sized onigiri. The hinoki is an extra bonus!
These molds are must have if you are a fan of onigiri. I have been forming rice balls by hand for years, but I missed the triangular shape that I came across so frequently when I was living in Japan. The wood is exceptionally fragrant, and the quality of the item is top notch. After only a couple of tries to get the hand of rice to filling proportions, I was making great onigiri with tuna salad, curry vegetables, and umeboshi.
I love wooden molds generally and this one makes the perfect onigiri! I am very pleased!

Best mold for onigiri! This is the best mold I have used to make onigiri. After using this for three years, the cypress smell is starting to fade. Should I apply cypress oil to this wooden mold to fresh the the scent?

Onigiri mold - hinoki wood Beautiful onigiri mold, although I needed to smooth the insides of the mold with fine sand paper to get a better finish- not a big deal, though. Love the mold. Great service from Bento & CO, too.

Perfect! Very easy to use and care for. Makes lovely size onigiri. Added bonus of antibacterial properties in the rice from the wood which has a gorgeous fragrance. Recommend this product to anyone!
Great Onigiri! I had bought this in November of 2012. I was worried it might stick, so I bought the plastic molds at the same time, but I shouldn't have worried. The onigiri came out easily; it must have something to do with the absorption properties of that amazing smelling wood! Also, the plastic molds are a little bit on the larger side - these fit better in my onigiri containers.
